The Primary Residence Credit (PRC) was established during the 2023 Legislative Session under House Bill 1158. The credit provides all North Dakota homeowners with the option to apply for a state property tax credit through the North Dakota Office of State Tax Commissioner.

Homeowners with an approved application may receive up to a $500 credit against their 2024 property tax obligation. 

To be eligible for the credit, you must own a home (house, mobile home, town home, duplex, or condo) in North Dakota, and reside in it as your primary residence. 

There are No Age Restrictions or Income Limitations for this credit. 

Only one Primary Residence Credit is available per household.

Great Plains Housing Authority is closed on Monday, January 1, 2024. Our office will resume normal hours on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 8:30 AM.

Road and weather conditions remain hazardous in the area. GPHA offices will remain closed to the public. GPHA staff are working remotely to help answer calls and emails and reschedule appointments. The office will resume normal business hours on Thursday, December 28.

Great Plains Housing Authority’s offices are closed today but with employees working remotely. Employees will try to respond to phone calls and emails. Road conditions are hazardous, please stay home. GPHA hopes to open tomorrow – Wednesday, December 27.

GPHA’s offices are closed on Monday, December 25 for the Christmas holiday. Offices will resume normal hours on Tuesday, December 26.

Great Plains Housing Authority staff members will be in training on Wednesday, December 20th. GPHA’s offices will be closed all day Wednesday, and re-open on Thursday, December 21 at 8:30 AM.
